Printed Application Forms along with the instruction sheet are also available free of cost at all the Training Centres offering the DAC course. The application form can also be downloaded from the website www.acts.cdac.in free of cost. Candidates can fill in the printed application form and attach a DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “C-DAC, ACTS” payable at Pune of Rs.600/-(for manual only) towards registration fees for the CET along with a recent passport size photograph and submit the same at any of the training centres offering the DAC course or the same can be sent by speed post / courier only to the address mentioned above. For appearing for the DAC-CET, candidates are required to download & print the admit card. The photograph must be uploaded on our website for our records and further use. Candidates filling in the Manual (Handwritten) Application Form must submit the passport size photograph along with the Application Form, the same then will be scanned and uploaded by the centre accepting the printed application form. Photographs once uploaded will not be changed under any circumstances whatsoever. Please note that the upload of photograph is mandatory as this photograph will be used on the admit card for the CET and if the candidate is selected for the course, then the same photograph will appear on the Identity Card and finally on the DAC Certificate. An additional Photo Identification (like Driving License /Voters ID card /College ID Card /Passport) will have to be produced by the candidate along with the admit card, at the time of appearing for the online CET at the exam center Please note that the candidate should register only once and can appear for any one of the two CETs. Any deviation from this rule will disqualify you for admission to any of the centres unconditionally. Any fees paid by you will also be forfeited. No correspondence shall be made in this regard. Application form for the Common Entrance Test (CET), is to be filled online at www.acts.cdac.in (recommended). The non-refundable registration fee of Rs.500/- (for online) for the CET is to be paid by DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favor of ‘C-DAC, ACTS’ payable at Pune and sent to: The Programme Coordinator C-DAC, Advanced Computing Training School 5th Floor,N.S.G. IT Park, S.No. 127/2B/2A, Aundh, Pune –411 007. Maharashtra,India. Candidates are required to give the details on the backside of the DD such as Name of the Candidate, Registration ID, Form No, Contact No and the course applied for i.e. DAC February 2012 batch.
5. Admission Process The Admission process shall unfold in three stages as described below:
Stage I-Online Common Entrance Test (CET) The Common Entrance Test (CET) for the admission process shall be conducted twice. The CET would be conducted online at the centers mentioned in the online application form. Candidates can choose any one of the two available dates for the CET as per the convenience. Candidate can select the city only after the uploading of photograph and receipt of the registration fees of Rs.500 /-(for online) or Rs. 600 /-(for manual) (Whatever the case may be) at C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. Once the candidate selects the city, the system will allocate date, center and slots to the candidate for CET, no change of examination will be made under any circumstances whatsoever. The CET of two hours shall consist of online test of 150 questions. Each question shall carry one mark. There will be a negative marking i.e., quarter (0.25) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The syllabus for the CET is given in the brochure /e-brochure.
Stage II: Practical Test Candidates have to undertake Stage II & III of the selection process only at the specific centre selected by the student. Subject to successful clearance of Stage II & III, the candidate shall be offered admission to the same centre only. In order to facilitate the participation of the short listed candidates in Stage II and III at the allotted centre, the to and fro second-class railway fare (or its equivalent) by the shortest route from the correspondence address given by the candidate shall be reimbursed to the candidate on production of the original tickets. The accommodation for the previous night shall also be provided at no extra cost to the candidate. This stage shall consist of a practical test of 60 minutes duration for C Programming on a personal computer with Turbo C or equivalent compiler. Stage III: Interview This Stage shall consist of a technical interview based on the syllabus of the CET and a personal interview of the candidate immediately after the Practical Test (Stage II) on the same day. After the candidate successfully completes all the three stages of the selection process, he/she shall be given an Offer letter of Confirmed Admission to the DAC course at the same centre.
6. Declaration of result The result of the CET will be displayed on the website along with the percentile score of the candidates on the day of the result mentioned in the schedule. A message clearly indicating whether the candidate has qualified for Stage II & III will be displayed along with the percentile score in form of a “CET Score Card”. For this purpose candidates need to log on to the website using registration ID and Password.. Note: The CET score is valid for the two consecutive batches(i.e February 2012 and August 2012). Candidate should carefully note the percentile score. Candidate need to update the details of DD of first installment of course fees of Rs. 2,500/- on ACTS website & then send the same on or before Dec 30, 2011 to C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. Candidate can select the centre for appearing for stage II & III of selection process only after the receipt of the DD of Rs. 2,500/- at C-DAC, Pune The Candidate need to pay Rs. 2, 500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred only) towards the first installment of course fees by a DD drawn on any nationalized bank in favour of “C-DAC, ACTS” payable at Pune on or before Dec 30, 2011. Candidate will be able to see and select the centers available to him for undergoing the stage II and III of the selection process only after the receipt of payment of first installment of course fees of Rs. 2, 500/- (Rupees Two Thousand Five Hundred only) at C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. The facility of selection of the centre for undergoing the stage II and III of the selection process shall be made available in the descending order of the percentile on First-Come-First-Served basis. The exact date and time slot for the centre selection shall be mentioned on CET Score Card and the Schedule shall be updated on our website at www.acts.cdac.in on the date of declaration of CET of result. After the candidate selects the centre for appearing in stage II and III of the selection process, he/ she will be required to download & print the corresponding documents available on the result page and confirm participation for Stage II & III. The detailed instructions about the stage II & III shall be provided in these documents. At the end of Stage II & III a wait list will be declared (if any). The seats available after the deadline for admission will be filled up in the order of a candidate's wait list number at the centre. Please note that the candidate is required to select the centre for admission on or before the date and time as given in the schedule. Candidate need to select the center from the list of centres available for selection as per candidate’s percentile score and availability of the seats at a particular centre for the Stage II & III of selection process. IMPORTANT NOTE: 1. Incase the candidate is not interested in appearing for the stage II & III of the selection process, then he/she should not select any of the center available for selection, but can request for the refund of the first installment of fees of Rs. 2,500/- by clicking the option provided for the REFUND in the member’s area of the candidate. 2. The option for the REFUND of the fist installment of fees shall be provided on the same page where the lists of available centres are displayed. |
